Utilizing Residual Materials in the Metropolitan Area: Closing the Loop

Prototype for a sustainable a biobased an innovative a circular economy

The objective of the bioeconomy is a biobased, sustainable economy oriented towards natural material cycles.

BioBall aims to accelerate the transition into a bioeconomy under the specific conditions of the industrialized and densely populated metropolitan region of Frankfurt Rhine-Main. The Innovation Space primarily promotes the material recycling of biogenic residual and waste materials.

The program intensifies the direct exchange between private and municipal business, science, and politics - initiates new project ideas and funds innovative research and development projects in order to establish a bio-based economy. This not only helps to close raw material cycles and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also to leverage untapped economic potential.

The goal of the bioeconomy is a biobased, sustainable economy oriented towards natural material cycles.
